Internet could run out of capacity in two years Nervous Teeth Episode 98 November 24th, 2007 Download MP3 11.24.07 Artist of the Week: The Gorillaz Gorillaz is a virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of Britpop band Blur, and Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl. The band is composed of four animated band members: 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. The band's music is a collaboration between various musicians with Albarn being the only permanent member. Their style is broadly alternative rock, but with a large number of other influences including hip hop, electronica, dub and pop. He was the major lyrical influence in the Stone Roses' earliest work circa Garage Flower, before the classic Squire / Brown partnership that would yield the 1989 debut TSR. For all the criticism Ian's voice receives, it has become one of the most imitated in the years since his emergence. He contributed to only 3 songs on Second Coming (Daybreak, Straight to The Man, Begging You). Ian usually points to John's excessiveness in the Second Coming years as one of the main reasons for the group's downfall. However, his own lethargy in this period contributed just as much.
